Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, InterContinental Hotel Brisbane will open to guests this winter, offering 321 spacious hotel rooms and suites, all day dining restaurant and lobby bar, outdoor pool, fitness centre and Club Lounge, all in a prime location above Queen Street Mall, perfect for exploring the city’s top attractions. With over 1800 square metres of meeting and events spaces, InterContinental Brisbane offers versatile function rooms and a Grand Ballroom catering for up to 1000 guests, making it a great choice for business and leisure events alike.
Club InterContinental introduces a new level of service in our hotel. From making your restaurant reservation while being chauffeur-driven from the airport, to providing breakfast, drinks and canapés in our exclusive Club InterContinental lounge. Team members aim beyond the obvious, turning our attention to thoughtful touches and pleasant surprises. Our dedicated Club InterContinental team are on hand to provide guests with attentive, personal service.
We are looking to build our Club InterContinental team across the following roles:
- Club Lounge Manager, Full-time
- Club Lounge Supervisor, Full-time
- Club Lounge Attendant, Full-time, Part-time
Your day to day
Reporting directly to the Club Lounge Manager, you’ll be involved in superior guest service to ensure guests receive prompt attention and personal recognition throughout the hotel.
As part of our Club Lounge team, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and serving food and drinks to high standards, while highlighting promotions to guests and maximising up-selling opportunities.
- Ensuring the proper storage of food and beverage products & equipment, and replenishing supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste.
- Working with and supporting your colleagues to offer seamless service to our guests.
- Looking after your outlet – keeping it clean and tidy, clearing glasses, food and other items in a professional manner.
What we need from you
Are you refined, personable, knowledgeable, proactive and meticulous?
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate these behaviours every day, whilst having a working experience in an environment focused on guest service within a luxury brand. You'll also have excellent guest relations, beverage knowledge of wines, beers and spirits; and ideally have a basic working knowledge of hotel property management systems such as Opera.
Candidates must also have:
- Ongoing availability to work flexibly as rostered, between 6am and 10pm including nights, weekends and public holidays
- Full working rights in Australia without restrictions
- Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification and Food Handling Certificate
- At least two years in a supervisory/management capacity (for Manager and Supervisory roles)
- Strong communication skills and confidence in speaking to guests from all over the world, with a warm, welcoming energy
- Fluency in the English language; extra language skills would be great, but not essential
- Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene
- Physical fitness as you’ll be on your feet most of the day. Sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull objects, such as luggage and parcels up to 23 kg – we have the equipment to support you and keep you safe.
- Ability to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines, as well as assist in supporting the team with other duties, as required
