Cigar Sommelier - InterContinental Abu Dhabi

InterContinental Abu Dhabi is a destination of luxury, sophistication, and exceptional service. Our iconic property blends timeless elegance with modern hospitality, and our Cigar Bar is one of the city’s most exclusive lounges, offering premium selections and refined experiences for discerning guests.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cigar Sommelier to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver expert cigar knowledge, personalized recommendations, and outstanding guest experiences. This role requires deep understanding of premium cigars, pairings, storage, and lounge etiquette, with the ability to curate memorable moments for our guests.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:

• Provide expert recommendations on cigar selections based on guest preferences.
• Assist guests with cigar cutting, lighting, and proper smoking techniques.
• Maintain the humidor at optimal conditions, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
• Curate cigar and beverage pairings and support the development of cigar-related promotions or events.
• Educate guests on cigar origins, blends, strengths, and tasting notes.
• Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the cigar lounge and humidor.
• Deliver high-end, personalized service aligned with InterContinental brand standards.
• Support inventory management, ordering, and stock control.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience as a Cigar Sommelier or in a similar role within luxury hospitality.
• In-depth knowledge of premium cigars, humidor management, and pairings.
• Strong communication and guest-service skills.
• Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Certification in cigar or tobacco appreciation is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
