As Chief Steward & Hygiene Officer, my duties and responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring the efficient performance of the Stewarding Department
• Ensuring the hotel is compliant with all required Food Safety regulations and audits as applicable to its location.
• Payroll costs will be minimized by maximizing the productivity and efficient scheduling of hosts
• Check incoming material, ensuring that all merchandise is in accordance with order sheets, receiving records and purchasing specifications.
• Build a loyal, productive and effective team. Ensure our hosts report for duty punctually, wearing the correct attire and deliver friendly, courteous, consistent and efficient service at all times.
• Record guest complaints, requests and solutions together with any other issues related to personnel, equipment, produce Etc. and reports them to the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
• Interact with management of other departments within areas of responsibility and develops solid working relationships with them.
• Assist in the control of the outlet operational budget, ensuring that all costs are strictly controlled maximizing profitability.
• Ensure that working area is of exemplary clean nature. understands the team goals and objectives, ensuring that the maximum is done to achieve the targets.
• Be present throughout service.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.
• Knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
• Ensure the privacy of guests, partners and residential owners, I will apply an extra level of protection to any sensitive personal data and use confidential information only to perform my job.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
• Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.
Qualifications
To execute the position of Chief Steward & Hygiene Officer, I have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar or greater role in luxury hotels with proven results. I possess a minimum of a vocational / technical certification in hospitality and more than three years’ experience in a similar hotel operational role.
Technical skills include Advanced MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am familiar with Food and Beverage and culinary terminology, operating equipment, food and hygiene codes and controlling inventory.
Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred.
