Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, InterContinental Hotel Brisbane will open to guests this winter, offering 321 spacious hotel rooms and suites, all day dining restaurant and lobby bar, outdoor pool, fitness centre and Club Lounge, all in a prime location above Queen Street Mall, perfect for exploring the city’s top attractions. With over 1800 square metres of meeting and events spaces, InterContinental Brisbane offers versatile function rooms and a Grand Ballroom catering for up to 1000 guests, making it a great choice for business and leisure events alike.

The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. As Chief Concierge, you’ll deliver this from the outset, creating the warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home and delivering on their needs and expectations in alignment, with our Luxury Fundamentals service style.

A little taste of your day-to-day

  • Leading the co-ordination of any guests' needs, special requests, and inquiries to ensure superior & memorable experiences for our guests.
  • Creation of new & unique guest experiences fitting our various guest demographics (e.g. experiences that can’t necessarily be found by everyone on google).
  • Being knowledgeable with facilities, activities, equipment, services and other pertinent information in order to provide memorable guest experiences and Colleague upskilling.
  • Effectively communicating to all hotel Colleagues the city happenings, in particular special events.
  • Working in strong collaboration with the Front Office Manager, Duty Managers and all other leaders across the hotel.
  • Establish and manage the team roster and labour costs in accordance with business needs and ensure the department is manned accordingly. 
  • Continually improve the capability and competency of team members through systematic training and coaching.
  • Drive success across a number of a key performance metrics through leading, developing, inspiring and motivating the team.

What we need from you

We're looking for someone to bring their personality, passion, energy to this role. The ideal candidate will also possess the following: 

  • With a passion for guest service, you will have an in-depth and current knowledge of the Brisbane CBD and surrounding areas.
  • Experience engaging and leading a small diverse team.
  • Superior communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • High standard of personal presentation fitting of a luxury brand including impeccable personal hygiene.
  • Ongoing and proven commitment to quality and providing a truly unique experience to guests
  • Previous experience as a Chief Concierge or a similar position within a luxury hotel brand.
  • The flexibility to work various shifts on a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Familiarity with PMS systems, ideally Opera.
  • Calm under pressure—handling complaints, emergencies, or operational hiccups without disruption.
  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
  • Fluent in the English language; additional language skills would be great, but not essential.
