Catering & Event Sales Manager - Regent Kuala Lumpur (Pre-opening)

The Catering & Events Sales Manager drives revenue for Regent Kuala Lumpur's meeting, conference, wedding and banqueting spaces, turning enquiries into confirmed business and building the relationships that keep clients returning. This role blends proactive sales with thoughtful event planning, translating every client's vision into a flawlessly executed occasion that reflects Regent's standard of considered luxury.

YOUR DAY TO DAY  

People

• Lead the sales process for catering and events enquiries, from initial contact through to contract signing and handover to the operations team
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, agencies and repeat event hosts
• Coordinate closely with the events, culinary and operations teams to ensure every proposal is achievable and every detail is accounted for
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
• Represent Regent Kuala Lumpur at industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities to generate new business
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries, proposals and bookings in the hotel's sales system

Financial

• Achieve individual and team revenue targets for catering and events business
• Prepare proposals, contracts and banquet event orders that accurately reflect client requirements and hotel pricing guidelines
• Monitor booking pace and identify opportunities to upsell space, menus and add on services
• Negotiate sales prices within approved booking guidelines
• Provide accurate forecasts and pipeline reports to the Director of Events

Guest Experience

• Ensure every client experience is successful and memorable, acting as a trusted advisor from first enquiry through to the day of the event
• Build long-term relationships with planners and hosts to increase loyalty to the Regent brand
• Consult with meeting and event planners at the proposal stage to shape space, flow, menu and design around their vision
• Conduct site inspections and client entertainment to showcase the hotel's event spaces and capabilities
• Prepare and present tailored proposals that reflect each client's brief, budget and occasion
• Hand over confirmed bookings to the events operations team with complete and accurate details
• Conduct pre event meetings with clients to confirm final details ahead of handover
• Follow up with clients after each event to gather feedback and identify future opportunities
• Maintain close contact with key accounts to secure repeat and referral business

Responsible Business

• Raise awareness and reputation of the hotel and Regent brand within the local market
• Ensure client information and contracts are handled accurately and securely

Accountabilities

• Achievement of catering and events sales revenue and conversion targets against budget
• Accurate, timely proposals, contracts and banquet event orders for every confirmed booking
• Consistent delivery of Regent's brand standards across every client interaction
• Strong, lasting relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients and repeat event hosts

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU  

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field
• Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in catering, events or hotel sales, ideally within a luxury environment
• Strong negotiation, client relationship and proposal writing skills
• Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline and meet revenue targets
• Fluent English required; other languages an advantage
