The Catering Sales Manager – Weddings drives wedding and celebration revenue for Regent Kuala Lumpur, turning enquiries from couples, families and wedding planners into confirmed celebrations that reflect each couple's story. This role blends proactive sales with thoughtful event planning, translating every couple's vision into a flawlessly executed wedding that reflects Regent's standard of considered luxury.
YOUR DAY TO DAY
People
- Lead the sales process for wedding enquiries, from initial contact through to contract signing and handover to the operations team
- Build and maintain relationships with wedding planners, bridal agencies, religious and cultural celebrants, and repeat family hosts
- Coordinate closely with the events, culinary and operations teams to ensure every wedding proposal is achievable and every detail is accounted for
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
- Represent Regent Kuala Lumpur at bridal shows, wedding fairs and networking opportunities to generate new business
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, proposals and bookings in the hotel's sales system
Financial
- Achieve individual and team revenue targets for wedding and celebration business
- Prepare proposals, contracts and banquet event orders that accurately reflect each couple's requirements and hotel pricing guidelines
- Monitor booking pace and identify opportunities to upsell space, menus, decor and add on services
- Negotiate sales prices within approved booking guidelines
- Provide accurate forecasts and pipeline reports to the Director of Events
Guest Experience
- Ensure every couple's experience is successful and memorable, acting as a trusted advisor from first enquiry through to the wedding day
- Build long-term relationships with wedding planners and families to increase loyalty to the Regent brand
- Consult with couples and planners at the proposal stage to shape space, flow, menu and design around their vision
- Conduct site inspections and tastings to showcase the hotel's wedding venues and capabilities
- Prepare and present tailored proposals that reflect each couple's brief, budget and cultural or religious requirements
- Hand over confirmed bookings to the events operations team with complete and accurate details
- Conduct pre event meetings with couples and families to confirm final details ahead of handover
- Follow up with couples after the wedding to gather feedback and identify future opportunities, including anniversaries
- Maintain close contact with wedding planners and past clients to secure repeat and referral business
Responsible Business
- Raise awareness and reputation of the hotel and Regent brand within the local wedding market
- Ensure client information and contracts are handled accurately and securely
Accountabilities
- Achievement of wedding and celebration sales revenue and conversion targets against budget
- Accurate, timely proposals, contracts and banquet event orders for every confirmed wedding
- Consistent delivery of Regent's brand standards across every couple and family interaction
- Strong, lasting relationships with wedding planners, families and repeat celebration hosts
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in wedding, catering or hotel sales, ideally within a luxury environment
- Strong negotiation, client relationship and proposal writing skills, with sensitivity to cultural and religious wedding traditions
- Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline and meet revenue targets
- Fluent English required; other languages an advantage
