We’re searching for a Carpenter to support our Engineering team in maintaining, repairing, and enhancing furniture, fixtures, doors, and other wooden elements throughout Crowne Plaza Kathmandu Pulchowk.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

● Carrying out carpentry repairs, maintenance, installation, and modification work across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and other hotel facilities
● Repairing and maintaining furniture, doors, door frames, cabinets, wardrobes, counters, wooden panels, partitions, and other carpentry fixtures
● Inspecting wooden fixtures and furniture to identify damage, wear, or defects and completing appropriate repairs in a timely manner
● Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and fitting wood and other materials using appropriate hand and power tools
● Carrying out adjustments and repairs to doors, locks, hinges, handles, drawers, cabinets, and other fittings to ensure proper operation
● Supporting preventive maintenance activities to keep furniture, fixtures, and carpentry elements in good condition and extend their useful life
● Performing polishing, laminating, minor finishing, and touch-up work to maintain the appearance and quality of wooden surfaces
● Responding promptly to carpentry-related maintenance requests from guest rooms and hotel departments
● Coordinating with the Engineering team and relevant departments to complete repairs while minimizing disruption to guests and hotel operations
● Assisting with the setup, installation, modification, and repair of furniture and fixtures required for hotel operations, meetings, events, and special projects
● Maintaining carpentry tools, machinery, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and safe working condition
● Monitoring the availability of wood, hardware, adhesives, fittings, and other carpentry materials and reporting requirements to the Engineering team
● Ensuring materials are used efficiently and supporting efforts to minimize wastage and control maintenance costs
● Reporting structural damage, water damage, pest-related concerns, or other conditions that may require additional maintenance attention
● Supporting other basic Engineering and maintenance activities when required and within the scope of skills and training
● Following all hotel procedures and safety requirements when using hand tools, power tools, machinery, adhesives, and other materials

What We need from you:

● Technical qualification, vocational training, or relevant certification in Carpentry, Woodworking, Building Maintenance, or a related trade preferred
● Minimum 2–3 years of practical carpentry experience, preferably within a hotel, commercial building, or similar environment
● Good knowledge of carpentry techniques, furniture repair, woodwork, fittings, fixtures, and finishing methods
● Ability to read measurements accurately and safely operate common carpentry hand and power tools
● Good understanding of different types of wood, laminates, hardware, adhesives, and other materials used in carpentry work
● Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship, neatness, and professional finishing
● Ability to identify carpentry defects and determine appropriate repair or replacement requirements
● Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with Engineering and other hotel departments
● Ability to manage assigned maintenance tasks efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards
● Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to support other Engineering activities when required
● Knowledge of workplace health and safety, safe equipment handling, and relevant safety standards as required by local regulations
