We’re looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team at the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC).
In this pivotal role, you’ll support the Director of Sales, Marketing and Events in driving business growth through strategic sales, building client relationships, and increasing revenue in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
No two days are the same, but your core responsibilities will include:
● Managing day-to-day sales activities and nurturing client relationships, with a strong focus on securing repeat business
● Meeting individual and team sales targets to maximise profitability
● Supporting sales initiatives through site inspections, client entertainment, and marketing events
● Monitoring competitor activity and market trends to ensure NCCC stays ahead of the curve
What we’re looking for:
● A minimum of two years’ experience in convention sales or in a large MICE hotel environment
● Proven experience working with international, national, and local clients to promote convention centres and destinations
● Strong knowledge of local business networks and industry trends
● Ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrix-style organisation
● A proactive approach to developing and maintaining relationships with clients and key stakeholders, including senior-level executives
