Duties and Responsibilities
As Boat Crew, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:
• Assist the Captain in voyage planning, weather monitoring, and route adjustments to ensure safe and smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with all maritime laws, flag state regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the vessel to luxury hospitality standards before, during, and after each trip.
• Provide courteous, professional, and proactive service to guests, anticipating needs and enhancing overall guest experience.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including man-overboard, fire, medical incidents, and evacuation procedures.
• Handle ropes, lines, fenders, and deck equipment in accordance with standard maritime practices.
• Report any technical issues, safety hazards, or maintenance needs to the captain or management immediately.
• Ensure proper care and storage of safety equipment, navigation tools, and guest amenities.
• Support sustainability and environmental protection initiatives in line with Six Senses values.
• Upkeep Six Senses guidelines and standards of service and operation. My performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded.
• Strictly adhere to LQA standards and guest comments.
Qualifications
To execute the position of Boat Crew, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
• Yacht Master or equivalent, or the minimum of Day Skipper or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar hotel operational role.
• Technical skills include more than two years of captain experience with 200 hours night sailing. Knowledge on navigation charts and computer positions, using standard navigation aids, such as compass, sextant, clock, radio fix, and navigation tables and the ability to steers vessel and operate electronic equipment, such as radio, sonic depth finder, and radar.
• Fluent in English.
