We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Banquet Sales Manager to lead our events operations, ensuring exceptional service, flawless execution, and maximum guest satisfaction in line with IHG’s standards of excellence.

Your Role

Reporting to the Director of Conference & Banqueting (or their delegate), you will manage all aspects of the Catering, Conference, and Banqueting operations — from sales to execution — while ensuring the highest levels of customer care and service delivery.

You will:
✨ Oversee and manage the daily operations of conferences, meetings, and banquets to achieve optimal revenue targets.
✨ Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, event planners, travel agencies, government entities, and corporate partners.
✨ Conduct sales calls, client meetings, and site inspections to promote the hotel’s facilities and services.
✨ Negotiate and finalize event contracts, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
✨ Collaborate with key departments including Reservations, Purchasing, and Marketing to deliver seamless event experiences.
✨ Monitor competitor activity and market trends to support strategic planning and continuous improvement.
✨ Coordinate promotional activities, trade shows, and client entertainment to drive new business opportunities.

Financial & Operational Excellence

?? Assist in preparing the departmental annual budget in coordination with the Finance team.
?? Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure financial goals are met, implementing cost-control measures as needed.
?? Develop and manage efficient staffing schedules while ensuring optimal productivity.

People Leadership

?? Lead, train, and motivate a high-performing Conference & Banqueting team.
?? Identify and nurture talent through coaching, training, and career development opportunities.
?? Conduct performance appraisals, manage leave requests, and maintain a culture of accountability and engagement.
?? Ensure departmental standards and procedures are communicated, implemented, and consistently upheld.

Customer Experience

?? Deliver exceptional guest experiences by maintaining the highest standards of service and attention to detail.
?? Anticipate client needs, resolve issues promptly, and ensure every event exceeds expectations.
?? Foster a strong “service-first” culture across the team to reflect IHG’s commitment to True Hospitality.

Health, Safety & Security

?? Ensure full compliance with IHG health, safety, and hygiene policies.
?? Familiarize the team with emergency procedures and maintain detailed incident and safety records.
?? Promote a culture of safety and care for both guests and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

✔ Proven experience in Conference & Banqueting or Event Sales Management within an upscale or luxury hotel environment.
✔ Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
✔ Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
✔ Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and drive revenue growth.
✔ A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a passion for excellence.
