Bakery Commis Chef

We are a people-powered business. So, we’re looking for a Bakery Commis Chef who is passionate about the art of baking and committed to producing high-quality breads, pastries, and baked goods. Someone eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to support the bakery team in delivering fresh, delicious products that enhance every guest’s dining experience.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Assisting in the preparation and baking of breads, rolls, pastries, specialty doughs, and other baked items according to hotel standards.

Supporting the bakery team with daily mise-en-place, mixing, kneading, shaping, proofing, and baking.

Following recipes accurately to maintain consistency in taste, texture, and quality.

Monitoring ovens, proofers, and bakery equipment to ensure correct temperatures and baking results.

Ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients (FIFO), maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bakery area.

Assisting in the setup of breakfast buffets, bakery displays, and banquet requirements.

Handling bakery tools and equipment safely and reporting any maintenance needs.

Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, sanitation practices, and HACCP compliance.

Participating in training sessions and learning new techniques to enhance bakery skills.

High school diploma or certification in Baking, Culinary Arts, or a related field.

Previous experience in a bakery or pastry environment is preferred.

Basic knowledge of bakery operations—dough preparation, fermentation, shaping, and baking.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and standard recipes.

A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and passion for bakery arts.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Must speak basic English; additional languages may be preferred.

Flexibility to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays.
