Role Purpose

Support integrated business processes by leading all Iplan‑related financial forecasting and budgeting activities for Managed and Owned Hotels. Serve as the primary point of contact for EMEAA Regional Finance Operations leadership
 

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting Manager with the Hotel and Corp. Business Support for IHG Financial Planning Systems – I Plan globally including Process Reviews, Feedback collection, system problem solving, User onboarding and other Trainings.

  • Support Line Manager and other I Plan regional supporters globally in assigned area(s) for regional/global financial planning projects.

  • Support the implementation of any application version updates for Hotel Forecasting, Budgeting and Actual P&L and Capital Investment Reporting (including software review, development coordination with vendor, testing, deployment preparation and execution, user trainings and related business support)

  • Able to review Financial planning processes for efficiency improvements and presenting different process and technical solutions (incl. data flow changes) to IDT internal and external stakeholders, followed by execution with support from line manager.

  • Provide General Business Support and Trainings to (mainly / not limited to) EMEAA and Six Senses stakeholders for all IPlan Financial Planning systems and able to explain other IDT applications like EPM (incl. Essbase OBIE) as needed.

  • Open to seamlessly transitioning new tasks and promptly delivering them with precision and adherence to timelines

  • Organize the IPlan Team related work within the India team 

  • Organize and Coordinate the delivery of learning and training contents according to IHG and IDT standards for all I Plan project users/co-workers

  • Interact with senior Finance staff (Regional Directors & Hotel Finance) to address Forecasting & Budgeting issues, communicate initiative status and explain, key financial planning concepts, processes and methodologies.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Hospitality Administration, Accounting, Economics or a related field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience - Minimum of 5 years work-related experience in financial planning and analysis or management reporting/consulting, with demonstrated mastery of technical and business knowledge. Work experience should include experience with financial hotel e.g. accounting systems or financial reporting applications (e.g. Essbase). Experience in providing User trainings and business support is mandatory.

Technical Skills and Knowledge-

  • Demonstrated financial and business analysis skills, ability to analyze operating planning processes, ability to use the results of analysis to make effective strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors.
  • Able to work effectively with senior managers, possess strong negotiating and persuading abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial statements, financial principles and the ability to convert them to use in the hotel. 
  • Basic Project Management skills and reliable and able to work according to deadlines at multiple projects in the same time
  • Demonstrated PeopleSoft or other accounting system, Hyperion Essbase or other EPM system experience preferred
  • Demonstrated good Excel and Power Point / presentation skills
  • Fluent Writing and Speaking in English.  German (negotiation and presentation level) preferred.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for automation, and streamline processes to enhance operational efficiency
