This role is responsible for the leadership of all technology related activities for Openings and Conversions of hotel projects in Greater China, drive alignment between IHG and Owners to make it easier to do business with IHG and support the Company's strategic priority of delivering industry leading, high-quality net unit growth.
You will need to develop strong collaborative partnerships with Owners, Development, Brand, Hotel Lifecycle & Growth and Operations leadership, business partners and vendors to ensure on time and on budget delivery and support of technology solutions that meet the needs of the business.
This role also provides IT leadership to properties in region, including effectively communicating, managing, and delivering IT Systems and procedures that comply with Corporate, Brand and Technology Standards.
Your day to day
• Leverage effective partnerships with hotel ownership, vendors, internal constituents and other departments to accomplish objectives.
• Oversee strategic partners and vendors to ensure proper project management, resource allocation and compliance with established service levels
• Influence decisions of owners, operators, functional groups and other stakeholders involved in hotel opening
• Implement appropriate measures and controls to ensure optimal performance of function and accomplishment of objectives.
• Manage the cross-functional links between supporting departments
• Report and engage with Senior Exec Level Operational owners and functional opening teams to ensure an open and proactive communication on key deliverables, timelines and project risks
• Research and identify business opportunities for technology and report findings and conclusions to upper management
• Assist in setting the overall technical vision of regional properties
• Evaluate property needs and technology solutions to improve profit and/or efficiency while handling initiatives within parameters
What we need from you
• Four (4) year college degree or significant work experience
• Advanced degree preferred or certification in Project Management
• Significant experience of 10 or more years in technology roles within hotel operations and hospitality technology.
• Strong problem definition and risk analysis skills
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Proactive and adaptable to modify approach or style to achieve goals
• Have the tenacity to maintain effectiveness in situations of disappointment
• Knowledge of new technologies and applications
• Excellent people organizational and project management skills
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, both in Mandarin and English
• Ability to prioritize efforts effectively and flexibly adapt to changing business requirements in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
• Ability to influence internal and external service providers to meet or exceed project objectives
• Vendor management experience
• Ability to travel as required
