Assistant Housekeeping Manager - InterContinental Abu Dhabi

Our Housekeeping team plays a vital role in upholding the hotel’s brand promise, and we are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support daily operations and lead our team to excellence.

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the day-to-day housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas consistently meet InterContinental brand standards. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a hands-on approach to team management and quality control.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:

• Assist in managing daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house areas
• Supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping colleagues to ensure high performance and engagement
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and brand standards are met
• Handle guest requests and complaints professionally, ensuring prompt resolution and guest satisfaction
• Support manpower planning, duty rosters, attendance, and leave management
• Ensure proper usage, control, and inventory of housekeeping supplies, linen, and equipment
• Coordinate with Engineering, Front Office, and other departments to ensure smooth operations
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
• Assist with onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of team members
• Support special projects, deep-cleaning schedules, and departmental initiatives

What we need from you:

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in housekeeping operations within a luxury hotel or resort
• Previous supervisory or assistant managerial experience is preferred
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards, procedures, and cleaning chemicals
• Good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Proficient in basic computer applications (Opera/housekeeping systems preferred)
• Attention to detail with a strong commitment to service excellence
