  4. Must have Health Certificate, ABC Card and ServeSafe Certificate
  5. Service years - At least 5 years experience in managing food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area, Hotel industry preferred.

What’s the job?

Responsible for assisting the Food & Beverage Manager in managing all personnel and daily operations of restaurants/bars and room service, if applicable. Oversees the quality service of food, timeliness of food service, and staff productivity to ensure that it meets hotel quality standards. Ensures that outlet operations are in compliance with brand standards and federal and state health and safety regulations. 

Your-day-to-day

People

  • Lead the team by example by promoting and maintaining a safe and positive workplace.
  • Develop on-boarding plans for new team members.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Manage daily staff assignments, communicate goals, and ensure compliance of policies and procedures. 
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings as needed.
  • Provide a learning atmosphere with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Provide proactive coaching and counselling to team members.
  • Monitor and maintain the pproductivity level of team members.
  • Review outlet staff operations and initiate performance appraisals, salary adjustments, disciplinary measures, and other HR-related actions

Financial

  • Assist F&B Manager in monitoring costs and inventory levels.
  • Assist in the preparation of Food & Beverage Department’s annual budget. 
  • Assess market situation and make recommendations to maximize opportunities.
  • Consult with Food & Beverage Director on maximizing revenues and profitability of F&B outlets.
  • Develop and manage all departmental financial, employee engagement and guest satisfaction plans and actions
  • Maintain good understanding of financial objectives

Guest Experience

  • Enhance guest experience by responding timely to guest requests and helping guests realize their desired dining and event ideas.
  • Manage relationships with guests and act as primary point-of-contact for outlet events.
  • Establish and regularly review menus and service delivery and implement innovative concepts.
  • Respond appropriately to guest complaints.
  • Take ownership of a guest complaint/problem until it is resolved or it has been addressed by the appropriate personnel.
  • Make appropriate service recovery gestures in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Clearly understand the brand’s service standards and culture and drive alignment of all team leaders and members to the brand’s service standards and culture.
  • Improve quality of service by communicating and assisting team members to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback and individual coaching.
  • Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.

Responsible Business

  • Monitor food and beverage performance of F&B outlets through regular review and implement necessary changes. 
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish tasks.
  • Work with team members to develop creative and innovative ideas, pilot new F&B concepts to capitalize on potential opportunities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of food and beverage outlets and report any concerns accordingly.
  • Manage vendor relationships and develop strategic alliances with vendors.
  • Coordinate with F&B Manager for consistency and common approach to F&B operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitary standards.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement and disposal rules and regulations.
  • Communicate with the Purchasing department and vendors to source appropriate F&B supplies and equipment. 

What we need from you

Knowledge and skills

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees. 
  • Problem solving, reasoning, analytical, motivating, and training abilities are often used when estimating food productions, coordinating functions, and performing general management duties. 
  • Basic math skills, reading, and writing are used when completing paperwork, budgets, and other reports.
  • Must be able to obtain a government-issued Food Handler’s Certification.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently walking, standing up at guest-facing areas 
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling 
  • Handling food and beverages, stoves, utensils, and other food service or culinary supplies and equipment
  • Health Certificate and ABC Card
  • ServeSafe Certificate

Language - Fluent in English (speaking, listening, reading and writing)

Computer Skills - Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications.
