What Is The Job?

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will maximise revenue for the hotel by selling hotel rooms, meeting rooms and food & beverage through direct client contacts, connecting with new potential customers and relationship management of existing accounts.

 

Your Day To Day

  • Manage all sales activities and events including direct sales, sales solicitation, sales administration, public relations and management of the sale team.
  • Work with Executive Committee and Revenue team to produces the Annual Revenue Plan Produces, implements and monitors action plans to ensure Revenue Plan objectives are achieved.
  • Provide direction to the team to ensure they meet the Revenue Plan goals through regular reviews on sales activities and performance.
  • Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts on current/potential market, sales trends etc.
  • Review the daily business levels, anticipate critical situations and plan effective solutions in conjunction with your manager to best expedite these situations.
  • Work with the team to actively conducts market research. Analyses current and potential markets/trends and competitor activities and identify new business opportunities to procure for new and repeat business for the hotel.
  • Create and implements special programmes / hotel level tactical sales plan to grow market share and achieve greater profitability through driving revenue:
  • Maintain close liaison with Regional/ Corporate Sales teams and those of other IHG hotels to ensure the hotel receives proper corporate consideration, direction and support. Coordinates sales and promotes business for other InterContinental Hotels within the region.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet services.
  • Plan and executes sales trips to potential market.
  • Oversee the selling and servicing of group business.
  • Meet with guests from major producers / organizers of big events staying in the hotel to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify operational problems that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with appropriate department on solutions.
  • Ensures the hotel is represented as an active member of the local community through association membership.
  • Co-ordinates the development of all promotional material.
  • Establish and continuously update mailing lists.
  • Actively participate in hotel meetings, interact with department and hotel staff in a professional and positive manner to foster good rapport, promote team spirit and ensure effective communication.
  • Demonstrate co-operation and trust with colleagues, supervisors, teams and across departments to deliver positive results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty.

  • Increasing business volume during difficult periods
  • Increasing local food and beverage banqueting sales
  • Organize and attend major sales/PR related functions within the hotel.
  • Work with Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs.
  • Work with Director of Finance in the preparation and management of the Department’s budget.

 

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team.
  • Strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends required.
  • Must speak local language(s).
  • Other languages preferred.
