What is the job?
As Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support, you will support the Director of Finance & Business Support in managing all financial and accounting aspects of the hotel. You will ensure the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with IHG standards and local regulations, and contribute to driving financial performance and operational efficiency across the hotel.
Your day-to-day
People
- Support the Director of Finance & Business Support in leading, coaching, and developing the Finance & Accounting team
- Assist in creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Ensure team members are trained and fully compliant with IHG policies, procedures, and control standards
- Support performance management, succession planning, and talent development within the department
- Foster strong working relationships across departments to support operational success
Financial
- Support the preparation and analysis of financial statements, forecasts, and management reports
- Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with hotel and brand objectives
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and cost control initiatives
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, inventory levels, credit control, and expenditure
- Support evaluation of capital expenditure proposals and post-investment performance
- Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliation.
Responsible Business
- Ensure compliance with IHG accounting policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely follow-up on audit findings
- Assist in safeguarding hotel assets and maintaining effective financial control systems
- Support contract management, including vendor agreements and service contracts
- Ensure ethical financial practices and adherence to local regulations and reporting requirements
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification in Accounting or Finance
- minimum 3–6 years’ experience in hotel finance, accounting, or audit, with supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of hotel accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, and reporting
- Experience supporting audits, compliance, and financial analysis
- Professional accounting or finance certification is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work collaboratively
