We are seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer who will play a key role in relaunching one of Jordan’s most iconic destinations. In this exciting pre-opening role, you will support the Chief Engineer in leading and overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations—ensuring the resort’s facilities, systems, and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
You’ll help build, inspire, and develop a dedicated team of engineers and technicians who embody IHG’s purpose of delivering True Hospitality for Good. Through technical expertise, strong leadership, and hands-on problem-solving, you’ll drive operational excellence, safety, and reliability across all engineering functions.
What We’re Looking For:
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
4–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience in hospitality, commercial buildings, or related industries, with at least 2 years in a similar leadership role.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, BMS, PMS & GRMS, and mechanical systems.
Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse engineering team.
Solid understanding of workplace safety and preventive maintenance practices.
Demonstrated experience in budget management, cost control, and vendor negotiations.
Hands-on, resourceful, and solutions-oriented with strong project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and external authorities.
Strong commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and responsible business practices.
Flexibility to work on-call, weekends, or evenings as required by operational or emergency needs.
Safety certification from the Ministry of Labor or an approved center.
