At voco Malta, we are looking for a passionate and hands-on Assistant Bars Manager to help lead our dynamic bar team and deliver memorable guest experiences in line with our bold and unstuffy brand spirit. Working closely with the Bars Manager and Food & Beverage leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, developing our bar offering, and maintaining our high standards of service, ambiance, and quality.

Your day-to-day

• Support the Bars Manager in leading daily operations of the bars with energy, attention to detail, and team engagement.
• Train, guide, inspire, support and team up with the front-of-house crew, including the wait staff to consistently deliver warm, intuitive, and efficient service in line with voco standards.
• Proactively help on the floor with guests questions, wishes, concerns for a seamless experience for our guests during their stay.
• Assist with scheduling, team briefings, stock control, and inventory management.
• Help develop creative seasonal drink menus, contributing to a unique and memorable guest experience.
• Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are upheld and exceeded.
• Take part in financial tracking by supporting revenue targets, cost control, and waste management.
• Act as a shift leader when the Basr Manager is not present.

What we are looking for

• Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in a bar or F&B outlet (luxury or lifestyle brand preferred).
• Enthusiastic and approachable personality with a flair for delivering personable, unscripted hospitality.
• Solid knowledge of spirits, wines, cocktails, and bar trends.
• Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., Micros), basic inventory processes, and team scheduling tools.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
