We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Group Sales Manager to join our Caribbean Cluster Sales Team. This role will support these properties:
- InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa
- Six Senses La Sagesse, Grenada
- InterContinental Grenada (opening in 2026)
The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for driving group room night and event revenue across this portfolio, with a strong focus on the corporate incentive travel market. The ideal candidate will excel at developing and maintaining a robust client base through strategic prospecting, relationship building, and proactive sales efforts across the MW and West U.S. markets and select vertical accounts.
Your day to day
Targets group accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
Proactively identifies, qualifies, and solicits new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to include but not limited to sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, roadshows/tradeshows.
Handles incoming calls for group requests within established guidelines
Active solicitation in the re-booking of established customers
Regularly scheduled sales/service contacts by telephone or correspondence with assigned accounts
Active participation in industry and civic organizations representing opportunities for business
Arranging and conducting key on-property site inspections with clients, including entertaining to showcase the resorts.
Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
Understands the overall market in which they sell - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, airlift, etc.
Communication to customers, prospects, and in-house departments through:
Prompt response to all inquiries or correspondence from customers and prospects
Preparation and submission of reports as may be required by the Director of Group Sales and/or Director of Sales & Marketing.
Close interaction with other resort departments in arranging accommodations, services, and special events for our booked business
Maintenance of adequate and current files on assigned accounts
Accurately forecasts group sleeping rooms and event revenue (catering and audio-visual) for his/her groups prior to the turnover and continues to be a part for this process after the turnover.
Participation in sales department meetings
Accountability
Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals. Effectively manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs and identify opportunities to up-sell products and services throughout the sales process.
Builds the department top line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines set forth by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Group Sales. Identifies revenue opportunities for the hotel based on the event profile.
Entertainment and travel required.
What we need from you:
College Degree
Tertiary qualifications relevant to Marketing or Sales would be an advantage
Minimum 5 years experience in Resort sales representing four and five diamond/star properties
Track record of achieving sales targets.
Well-established client database in the designated market.
Experience selling Caribbean destinations
Experience exemplifies high-level, professional interaction delivering results consistent with maximizing revenue for all resort operations.
Technical Skills
Competent Word, Excel, PowerPoint and software packages
High proficiency in English language oral and written skills.
Technologically knowledgeable and able to apply this to communication/sell on a competitive basis against four and five diamond/star competitive-set properties.
Soft Skills
Solid communicator with the capability to work well in a team environment that supports overall office success.
Experience shows a high level of professional integrity in all external and internal interaction and correspondence.
Able to help set and accomplish goals that meet/exceed expectations.
Able to work in a fast paced environment with high volume of clients. Time management and multi-tasking a must.
