Your day to day:

FINANCIAL RETURNS

  • Develop and drive business strategies for the assigned portfolio, ensuring account plans comply with IHG Hotels Business Development standard operating procedures to maximize hotel profitability.

  • Lead the team in analysing the potential of assigned accounts, setting and monitoring progress toward business goals.

  • Identify and target high-potential prospective and existing clients to generate incremental business revenue.

  • Control and optimize the Business Development budget and related expenses, ensuring a strong return on investment for all sales activities.

PEOPLE

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise the Business Development team (including Executives and Coordinators), ensuring they effectively carry out their responsibilities and achieve individual sales goals.

  • Establish a systematic approach to gathering market intelligence, monitoring competitor activities and market trends. Share key insights with hotel management and relevant departments to formulate competitive strategies.

  • Plan and lead sales meetings, training sessions, and daily briefings to enhance the team's professional skills and product knowledge.

  • Report regularly to superiors (e.g., Director of Sales) on team performance, market challenges, and key opportunities, proposing actionable plans.

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with key decision-makers within the account portfolio, serving as a trusted strategic partner for clients.

  • Lead negotiations with key accounts and plan/execute high-quality hotel site inspections and tours to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

  • Oversee the team in handling complex client inquiries and complaints, ensuring issues are resolved effectively to protect the brand's reputation.

  • Establish strategic partnerships and maintain close, mutually beneficial relationships with key business generators (e.g., Travel Management Companies, premium Travel Agents).

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data in the sales system (e.g., Delphi, Opera). Ensure the team consistently updates account profiles, contact information, and account plans, using the system as a core tool for business decisions and strategy.

  • Utilize sales system analytics to monitor team activities, track lead conversion rates, and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

  • Represent the hotel and brand within the local community and at business events to enhance brand awareness, reputation, and identify new business opportunities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

What we need from you:

Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business or Hospitality Management desired, and 4 years or more of relevant Sales experience in Hospitality or a related service industry.

In-depth knowledge of sales principles and techniques

Effective communication and negotiation skills

Strong knowledge of hotel products, rates and marketing programmers

Excellent PC skills (including MS Office)

Able to read, write and speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English.

Ability to develop strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders

-Knowledge and experience of Sales Systems (i.e. Delphi; Opera; etc.) is advantageous
