Job Overview:
As the Materials Manager, you will oversee all aspects of procurement, receiving, and inventory control. You'll ensure that purchasing activities are conducted in line with IHG’s corporate standards, legal compliance, and the hotel’s operational needs. Your goal is to secure quality goods and services at the best value while supporting efficient hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Purchasing

  • Source and purchase goods and services per the hotel’s needs and approved budgets.
  • Maintain relationships with approved vendors and source new suppliers when necessary.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Ensure purchasing practices comply with IHG policies and local regulations.

 

Inventory & Supply Chain

  • Oversee inventory control systems for all departments (especially F&B and housekeeping).
  • Monitor stock levels, conduct periodic audits, and ensure adequate supplies.
  • Minimize waste and manage slow-moving or obsolete stock effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and usage.

Receiving & Storage

  • Supervise receiving procedures and inspect goods upon arrival for quantity and quality.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of items in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with department heads to track material usage and needs.

Financial Management

  • Support budgeting and forecasting by providing material cost data.
  • Track procurement-related expenses and generate reports for management.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.

Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, including vendor files, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Comply with IHG procurement guidelines, internal control policies, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance, F&B, engineering, and other teams to support operational needs.
