Nestled in the heart of Washington D.C.'s vibrant new waterfront district, InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf offers an unparalleled blend of luxury and convenience. With breathtaking views of the Potomac River, a stunning rooftop pool, a serene onsite spa, and effortless access to the National Mall, Washington Monument, and Smithsonian museums, this hotel is a true urban oasis.
We are seeking an extraordinary General Manager to lead our team and elevate this exceptional property to new heights. If you have the vision, passion, and expertise to create unforgettable guest experiences and drive commercial success, we’d love to hear from you!

 

Your day-to-day:

  • Oversee Hotel Operations: Lead the commercial and operational functions of the hotel properties, ensuring smooth and efficient management.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan aimed at maximizing owner returns and achieving financial targets.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, inspire, and manage a high-performing team. Focus on upskilling, measuring performance, and driving team success.
  • Boost Commercial Growth: Review and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the hotel's commercial performance across all facilities.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong connections with guests, external stakeholders, and key partners, including clients, government officials, suppliers, and local communities.  

 

What we need from you:  

  • Financial Experience: Solid financial acumen to drive profitability and manage budgets effectively.
  • Luxury Experience: Proven success in luxury property environments, with a focus on delivering exceptional standards.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Ability to connect with teams, guests, and stakeholders, fostering positive relationships.
  • Results-Oriented: A driven individual who thrives on achieving goals and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • F&B Expertise: A strong background in Food & Beverage operations is highly desirable.
  • Relationship Builder: Exceptional ability to collaborate with and engage all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential; conversational Spanish would be a strong advantage.  

     

The salary range for this role is $250K – $280K base.  This role is also eligible for bonus pay.  We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K and other benefits to employees.
