General Manager - Holiday Inn Resort Luang Prabang Naluang Hill

A unique opportunity to introduce Holiday Inn Resort to Luang Prabang, one of Southeast Asia's most captivating cultural destinations. Lead the pre-opening of Holiday Inn Resort Luang Prabang Naluang Hill, targeted to open in Q3 2027, and establish a new resort experience in this remarkable heritage city.

Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Luang Prabang is celebrated for its beautifully preserved architecture, Buddhist temples, rich cultural traditions and picturesque setting along the Mekong River. With its growing international appeal and convenient connections to key regional markets, Luang Prabang offers exciting opportunities for leisure and experiential travel.

Perched on Naluang Hill, approximately seven minutes from the historic town centre, the resort will feature 101 guestrooms, suites and villas, four dining venues, a swimming pool, spa, fitness facilities, a ballroom and four meeting rooms. Combining scenic views with convenient access to the city's cultural attractions, the resort is positioned to welcome international and regional leisure travellers, intimate events, meetings and corporate retreats.

We are seeking a commercially minded hospitality leader with a hands-on leadership approach, strategic vision and the ability to navigate a dynamic pre-opening environment while building a successful resort operation.

The role

• Take ownership of the pre-opening journey, overseeing operational planning, systems implementation, recruitment and readiness for a successful launch.

• Shape the resort's commercial strategy, positioning and guest experience to attract regional and international leisure markets.

• Develop revenue opportunities across accommodation, Food & Beverage, meetings, incentives and destination experiences.

• Establish effective operating structures and financial controls, ensuring operational efficiency and consistent brand standards.

• Build and develop a capable local team, creating a culture of service excellence, collaboration and continuous development.

• Work closely with ownership, IHG and key stakeholders, providing clear direction and delivering sustainable business performance.

What we need from you

• Extensive leadership experience within an internationally branded, full-service hotel or resort environment.

• Previous pre-opening or hotel conversion experience, with the ability to drive operational readiness and a successful launch.

• Commercial acumen with a sound understanding of leisure and resort markets, including regional and international travel segments.

• A hands-on leadership approach, with the ability to manage diverse hotel operations, build high-performing teams and develop local talent.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with hotel owners and corporate teams.

• Experience in Southeast Asia or Indochina, Mandarin language capability and previous experience in the China market are preferred.
