About the role
You will be responsible for the monitoring of the island’s Sewerage Treatment Plant and associated reticulation network. You will be responsible for maintaining the effluent quality to meet environmental standards and the continued smooth operation of the wastewater systems. With naturally high standards, you will approach every task with devotion and pride.
Your day-to-day
In your day-to-day role, you will be responsible for the safe operation of both the Water Treatment Plant and Sewage Treatment Plant, adhering to best industry practices. You will obtain competitive quotations and maintain adequate stock levels of all necessary operational parts, materials, and chemicals. Additionally, you will conduct daily laboratory sampling and testing at both facilities. Preventative maintenance tasks, guided by Hardcat and industry standards, will be performed to ensure plant reliability. Finally, you will ensure that both plants operate as efficiently as possible, optimizing performance under the guidance of your supervisor.
What we need from you
You should possess a Certificate III in Water Operations or a similar relevant qualification, along with a Queensland safety induction White Card. In addition to experience with building equipment and hand tools, you will have a working knowledge of industrial and domestic plant equipment. A valid driver's license for the state of Queensland is also required.
