Supervises and organises the daily operations of the maintenance team.

Plans and assigns tasks and ensures that deadlines are met.

Ensures that the hotel's installations are functioning properly by carrying out regular inspections according to the defined schedule.

Is responsible for ensuring that checks are carried out on the hotel's electrical installations and safety equipment (fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, sprinklers, fire alarms, etc.).

Keeps informed of all events taking place inside and outside the hotel (fairs, conventions, meetings, exhibitions, etc.) and ensures that all employees present are duly informed.

Promotes the services offered by the hotel and by the Group throughout his contacts with guests. Provides a courteous and friendly service to our guests, while ensuring its effectiveness.

Organises the preventive maintenance work necessary to ensure the permanent operation of the technical installations. Communicates with all the hotel's service managers to be informed of maintenance needs and ensure a rapid response to requests.

Takes part in the organization of the department and implements the necessary actions in order to achieve the company's financial, quality and environmental objectives.

Orders materials and equipment, taking into account waste reduction and implementing green initiatives. Builds and maintains effective relationships with the other departments.

Participates in the preparation of the department's financial provisions and annual budget and ensures compliance.

Is the person of reference in terms of health and safety at work. Ensures that the MSST ordinance is respected and followed. Is the person of reference in terms of fire safety.

Ensures a safe environment for guests and employees in accordance with the regulations and standards of the chain

Train hotel staff in accordance with current safety legislation and IHG standards. He/she also ensures compliance with these.

Ensures the safety of people and property within the hotel premises by enforcing the hotel rules and strictly complying with the laws.

Communicates with the Director of Engineering on any relevant issue that has a direct or indirect impact on the hotel internally or externally.

Carries out the necessary investigations and reports.

Regularly reviews policies, procedures and instructions to ensure maximum efficiency and security, makes recommendations to the Top Management when policy changes are required and continuously assesses potential security weaknesses.

Maintains good relations with local authorities (police, fire brigade, army, etc.).

Informs the Management Team of any incident or problem that occurs during work hours, particularly those he is not able to solve or whose importance justifies it, whether it concerns work-related issues or employee-related problems. 

Applies procedures and policies within the hotel and all new procedures according to the management orders. 

Applies the internal procedures in terms of health, hygiene and safety.

Conveys the right values and the good behaviors in his service as well as towards his colleagues and his hierarchy.

Ensures the proper and complete recording of all day-to-day activities of the security department, as well as all problems encountered in the hotel.

Manages the various computerised access control systems. Manages the hotel's key plan.

Ensures compliance with safety regulations, with particular attention to fire prevention (knowledge of procedures, emergency exits, fire book, training, etc.)

Collaborates with the training department to ensure the training of all staff in the field of safety (fire, application of safety rules, first aid training, etc.)

Reports to the Human Resources Department on any specific issues related to the behaviour of employees in the company, especially at night, on public holidays and during office closing hours.

Ensures that security staff respect their obligation of professional secrecy and confidentiality. 

Supervises the internal fire plan and conducts semi-annual evacuation drills in conjunction with the fire safety officer.

Ensures that order is maintained in the evacuation routes.

Supervises his service’s staff (administration, payroll, work time, planning). 

Works with the HR Department to manage his teams: recruitment, integration, performance evaluation, supervision, training and potential disciplinary sanctions when necessary and after discussion with the General Manager and the Director of Human Resources. Leads staff end of year reviews and check ins.

Is responsible for his team’s well-being at work. 

Develops the teams and improve their performance through coaching and feedback and creates performance and development goals for colleagues.

Drives a great working environment for the teams to thrive. Links up departments to create a sense of one team.

Promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

Communicates, teaches and enforces standard operating procedures and quality standards within his services. Performs audits and takes corrective actions if necessary.

Ensures compliance of his team with internal regulations in terms of grooming and dress code: state of uniforms, hygiene, presentation, attitude and behaviour.

Is responsible for the respect of his departments’ equipment and furniture. 

Applies and enforces environmental good practices in his department, particularly as part of the Green Globe certification (waste sorting, black & white printing, paperless meeting, etc.). May exceptionally perform other duties at the request of his hierarchy.

Builds and maintains effective relationships with the other departments.

Conveys the right values and the good behaviors in his service as well as towards his colleagues and his hierarchy.

PROFIL : 

Higher education in Maintenance. 5 to 10 years of experience in hotel maintenance. Significant experience in team management. Strong interest in and attention to new technological developments. Training as safety officer is a plus. Fluent in English and French.

Strong computer skills. 

Sense of responsibility, leadership and rigor.

Proactivity, reactivity, adaptability. Strong observation skills and attention to detail.

Sense of organization, time management and priorities.

Sense of discretion and confidentiality.
