Your Day to Day
As the Sous Chef specializing in Latin American cuisine, you will work closely with our Head Chef to oversee the kitchen operations of the restaurant and ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and innovation. Your expertise in Latin American culinary traditions and techniques will be crucial in delivering an authentic and memorable dining experience to our guests.
You will also be responsible to:
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurant’s high standards for quality and consistency
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and safety. Monitor and ensure the quality of ingredients and finished dishes, addressing any issues promptly
- Assist in managing inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and storing supplies. Control food costs by minimizing waste and ensuring proper portioning
- Occasionally interact with guests to gather feedback and enhance their dining experience. Address any special requests or dietary restrictions with attention and care
What We Need From You
Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, with a focus on Latin American cuisine in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of Latin American culinary techniques, ingredients, and traditions
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred
