Your Day to Day: 

Location: Atlanta, GA area; Hybrid [3 days a week in the office]

Role Purpose

The Senior Data Scientist will play a critical role in monitoring the health of revenue management systems. Collaborating with data engineers and other subject matter experts, the Senior Data Scientist will ensure that the system is delivering accurate and reliable results to support directional action by business teams across the Revenue Management, Loyalty, Sales, Operations, and Technology functions. Additionally, the Senior Data Scientist will partner with other data scientists to establish best practices and thought leadership for a machine learning platform that serves all IHG, with a focus on maintaining the system's health and performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Cultivate an in-depth understanding of business challenges collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Discern critical elements necessary for solving business problems, understanding data requirements for solution formulation.
  • Apply advanced machine learning methods to analyze and model structured data, implementing algorithms and software for comprehensive analyses.
  • Research new data sets, evaluating their quality and feasibility.
  • Manipulate data to support various statistical techniques.
  • Excel in storytelling with data, interpreting and communicating analytic results to analytical and non-analytical business partners and executive decision-makers.
  • Identify trends or patterns in complex data sets, providing recommendations for courses of action or solutions.

What We Need From You: 

Key Skills & Experiences

Education

Master's Degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience

Typically, a minimum of 4 - 7+ years of progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in advanced quantitative analysis.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Work with extensive datasets to address a diverse range of business problems using various analytical and statistical methodologies.
  • Apply technical proficiency in quantitative analysis, experimentation, machine learning, and data presentation to deliver actionable insights.
  • Exhibit excellent implementation skills with a deep understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Have experience in developing, deploying, and enhancing production models in an enterprise environment. 
  • Demonstrate expertise with common data science toolkits in Python and R.
  • Showcase proficiency in working with cloud environments, with a preference for GCP.
  • Exhibit experience with relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
  • Demonstrate experience in handling very large datasets, with knowledge of distributed computing tools (Spark, etc.) considered a plus.
  • Implement performance measurements to assess and enhance data science strategies and methodologies.
  • Experience in forecast model is a plus.
  • Travel:  0-5%

The salary range for this role is $58,834.00 to $145,000.00.  This is the lowest to highest pay scale we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. 

**This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
