A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
Supervision and Leadership:
- Supervise and direct security personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Schedule security staff to ensure adequate coverage of the property.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and safety.
- Motivate and mentor security officers to maintain high morale and performance.
Patrol and Surveillance:
- Oversee regular patrols of the property to deter crime and ensure safety.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and respond to security breaches.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or security concerns.
Incident Response:
- Respond to security incidents, including disturbances, thefts, medical emergencies, and fire alarms.
- Conduct investigations and document incidents thoroughly.
- Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate records.
Security Systems and Equipment:
- Ensure proper functioning of security systems, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- May be responsible for basic maintenance or troubleshooting of security equipment.
Access Control:
- Monitor and control access to the property, ensuring only authorized personnel are allowed entry.
- Enforce visitor policies and procedures.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to guests, employees, and visitors.
- Address inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Training and Development:
- Conduct regular training sessions for security personnel on security procedures, emergency response, and customer service.
- Stay up-to-date on security best practices and technologies.
Loss Prevention:
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and damage to property.
- Monitor inventory and investigate discrepancies.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
- Conduct drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for various emergencies.
What we need from you
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education or a degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is required.
- Prior supervisory experience is essential.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in using security equipment and systems (e.g., CCTV, access control).
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
