Restaurant Manager

What is the job?

As the Restaurant Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring that quality service and standards are maintained to deliver a memorable guest experience. Due to the emphasis on dinner service, most of your shifts will be during evenings. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with government regulations regarding health, safety, and other requirements.

In this role, you’ll be a key leader, motivating and developing a dedicated team while driving the profitability and success of the restaurant.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Manage everyday activity, plan and assign work ensuring you have the right staffing numbers in the roster and within budget
• Directing, coaching, and developing a team of committed hospitality professionals
• Delivering exceptional guest and corporate experiences by setting high standards and finding new ways to exceed them
• Help prepare the hotel’s annual budget and the setting of departmental goals
• Handle food and beverage inventory procedures. Determine minimum and maximum stocks for all food, beverage, material, and equipment

What we need from you:

• Diploma level training in food and beverage management or equivalent
• 3 years of related experience, including management experience
• A great communicator, able to navigate / resolve conflict and inspire others
• A head for business and an eye for the little things that make a guest feel special
• The ability to delegate and lead a team
• Product knowledge that others aspire to
• RSA Certificate
• Food handling certificate
