We are currently recruiting for a full time Receiving Cook to join our enthusiastic team at Crowne Plaza Dubai Marina.  

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving & Inspection:

  • Quality Control: Inspect all incoming deliveries to ensure they match the order specifications and are undamaged.
  • Discrepancy Management: Report any discrepancies, quality issues, or damages to the appropriate team for resolution.
  • Labeling & Stocking: Properly label and allocate deliveries to their designated storage areas (dry storage, cold storage, kitchens, etc.).
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all incoming goods, ensuring proper inventory management and documentation.

Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Stock Maintenance: Ensure proper stock levels are maintained in dry storage, updating par levels based on low/high stock levels.
  • Expiry Control: Manage product expiry dates, ensuring timely issuance to the kitchen or outlets.
  • Issuance Scheduling: Control the issuance of goods according to daily schedules, ensuring that outlets receive necessary supplies on time.

Kitchen Support (When Required):

  • Food Preparation: Assist kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, including chopping, prepping, and assembling dishes under the direction of the head chef.
  • Mise en Place: Support the kitchen team in the organization and setup of food stations, ensuring ingredients are prepped and ready for cooking.
  • Basic Cooking Duties: Assist with basic cooking tasks as directed by the head chef.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role (either Receiving Officer or Chef) within a 4- or 5-star hotel or comparable hospitality environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively within diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical proficiency in related software (inventory management, etc.) is preferable.

Other Attributes:

  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all tasks.
  • Flexibility to perform both receiving and kitchen-related duties as required.
  • A passion for food, with an interest in learning and assisting with culinary tasks.
  • Physical stamina to handle tasks such as lifting, carrying boxes, standing for long periods, and working in varying temperatures (cold storage, hot kitchens).

Working Conditions:

  • You will be required to work in both the receiving area and the kitchen environment, with a primary focus on receiving duties.
  • The position may involve physical effort, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in both cold storage and hot kitchen settings.

Ideally, you'll have a minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in the similar role in a four or five-star hotel or comparable industry, ability to demonstrate working with and engaging teams from different cultures, strong verbal and written communication skills along with being quality oriented with focus on details, high performance standards, able to multi-task & meet deadlines and technical proficiency in related software preferable.
