Role Purpose

Design, develop and manage performance enhancing training programs and tools for Brands, Hotel Operations, and Leadership development, for delivery across all regions and stakeholder areas. Develop, validate, and manage the integration of best practices into training materials. Manage production of training materials and serve as the contact with external vendors. Function as subject matter expert. Pilot training content, certify regional trainers on training materials (train-the-trainer) and mentor initial training sessions to ensure consistent delivery. Assist with implementation planning, and deployment and training delivery as needed by the regions and/or key stakeholders to support the strategic and tactical remit of Global Learning.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Ensures delivery of learning as part of the IHG University, School of Hospitality – learning focused in the areas of hotel operations, brand delivery and guest experience.
  2. Support regional learning strategy for core and value add learning interventions for hotels -  in support IHG’s brand standards, operational requirements, leadership and development needs in region.
  3. Works with other regional learning delivery leadership to manage learning forecasts, team budgets, scheduling, and learning measurement
  4. Lead the team of Sr Training Consultants by establishing performance standards and direct development of the team focused on adult learning methodology.
  5. Accountable for meeting with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery of learning strategy for the region.
 

Key Skills & Experiences

Education:

•Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hotel Management, Business, Education, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience:

•6-10 years progressive work-related experience in training design and facilitation, with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position, as well as 2 years prior supervisory or team leader experience.

Technical Skills & Knowledge: 

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing people including the ability to manage remote staff.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Service/Hospitality industry, hotel operations and systems.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.
  • Strong facilitation skills and ability to communicate information to groups in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated solid teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with customers, employees and senior management.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of training design principles and practices.
