About The Role

Junior Sous - Bakery Salary range: $70,000p.a - $75,000p.a not inclusive of superannuation

The Junior Sous - Bakery role is primarily responsible for direction of the operation of the Pastry kitchen in absence of Executive Pastry Chef working in conjunction with the Executive Chef and Culinary leadership team to ensure planning and direction of food service is produced to the highest quality and consistency including food preparation.

Your Day To Day

This role involves overseeing guest experience by soliciting feedback, assisting with menu and item planning, baking sweet and savoury goods, and creating memorable experiences through custom baked offerings. It includes managing bakery activities, training staff, and ensuring compliance with brand standards, while promoting teamwork across departments. Financially, it entails participating in budget preparation, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring accurate costing of dishes, while also ensuring food safety, developing new menu items, and managing inventory in line with regulations.

What We Need From You

The ideal candidate has completed Certificate 3 and Certificate 4 in Commercial Cookery, with over two years of experience as a baker, or an equivalent combination of education and culinary experience. Additionally, up-to-date food safety certification is required.
