As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:
- Verify and reconcile daily revenue reports from various departments, including rooms, food and beverage, and other revenue-generating outlets.
- Conduct audits of cash handling procedures, ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
- Review and reconcile guest folios, identifying any discrepancies or errors in charges, payments, or refunds.
- Compile and analyze revenue data, identifying trends and patterns to provide insights on revenue performance.
- Monitor and investigate any variances or discrepancies in revenue, identifying potential causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, highlighting key findings and variances.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Front Office and Food and Beverage, to gather relevant financial information and resolve any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for revenue streams.
- Conduct periodic audits of operating procedures and internal controls to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to policies.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices, implementing necessary adjustments to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Provide support during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for revenue-related transactions.
- Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required.
Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:
- Preferably candidates with Cluster Hotel Operations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience as an Income Auditor in the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in using financial management software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify anomalies.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate and thorough audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong ethics and integrity, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in handling financial information.
- Knowledge of hotel revenue management systems and familiarity with revenue-related processes and procedures.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems and financial software is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
