In this role, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Human Resources department to provide exceptional products and services within Six Senses brand operating standards and budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
I will work strategically with the General Manager to develop cohesive and productive goals for my department and establish procedures/guidelines to achieve them. I will maintain an overall consistency of the Company’s vision, quality/standards and develop concepts consistent with brand identity.
I will work collaboratively with the General Manager, Executive team and operations on correlated product standards and ensure that the brand provides a systematic culture that delivers excellent guest service results as measured by the brand, independent guest satisfaction company and social media vehicles in an effort to deliver on our promise to our guests and stakeholders.
By keeping abreast of industry trends and practices and updating knowledge and skills, I will continually improve the product and service offering and focus on the rejuvenation of my department.
Operational Ownership
- Processes will be constantly assessed and reviewed to remain relevant, innovative and in keeping with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
- Focus and review regularly through my physical presence in all areas of property, our rigorous adherence to LQA standards.
- Lead a team of engaged and experienced hosts to provide the Six Senses exceptional standards of operation and service.
- Prepare and implement the property human resources plan including manpower, benefits and payroll budget.
- Prepare and manage training department and orientations plans in line with the needs
- Create and manage host engagement initiatives.
- Oversee recruitment and host ratios, succession planning and individual development plans (IDP).
- Manage and conduct host satisfaction surveys and formulate any corrective actions.
- Arrange periodic host meetings, awards, performance management system.
- Analyse host turnover statistics and trends.
- Ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and relevant.
- Maintain confidential host files.
- Conduct periodic salary and benefit surveys and make recommendations to remain competitive and in line with local prevailing statutes.
- Be responsible of host accommodation and host facilities, along with the host committee, careers fairs and various other host activities.
- Champion Mission Wellness and Training activities and social and environmental activities.
- Ensure that my department complies with all legal, statutory and financial requirements.
- Implement, review and maintain documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communications, product and service standards.
- A high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene, plus comprehensive knowledge of safety, security and emergency procedures will be maintained by myself and all hosts in line with brand and statutory requirements.
- Ensure that interaction and communications between departments within the property are clear and effectively maintained to support the smooth running of the property.
- Ensure that all activities within my department are carried out ethically, honestly and within the parameters of local law.
- Revise and control that my department’s budget is strictly adhered to and all costs will be continually monitored and controlled to drive profitability, while taking into consideration the preservation of required standards with every decision made.
- Prepare and submit legally required and confidential documentation related to my department.
- Complete accurately all corporate reporting requirements for the role.
- Attend or conduct the designated meetings and briefings as instructed by the General Manager / Regional Director of Human Resources/ Corporate Head Office of HR with a two-way flow of pertinent information and communications.
- Perform any additional duties given to me by the General Manager.
People Management
As Human Resources Manager, I am responsible for the management, performance and development of all hosts within the property through the provision of direction, encouragement, enthusiasm, discipline, performance evaluation and counselling to build a loyal, productive and effective team.
Recruitment of the right people is intrinsic to delivering the Six Senses standard of service. I will work closely with General Manager and Head of Departments in identifying potential internal and external candidates
I will identify high potential talent for development in the property and ensure that there are Individual Development Plans that are well executed.
I will always behave in a professional manner and set an example to all. I will abide by Six Senses principles, core values, best practices, guidelines, and objectives, while respecting other cultures and nationalities and projecting a positive and proactive position to help build and maintain a strong, loyal team.
Responsible Business
All activities will be carried out ethically, honestly and within the parameters of local law. I will ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, hosts and hotel assets in compliance with hotel’s or owner’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. I will maintain relations with outside contacts and drive host involvement in community organizations, activities and businesses.

I am a personally involved, visible and proactive leader with excellent organizational skills, capable of providing focused direction and continuing to establish the company’s prominent position within the market. I possess a well-developed capability for strategic decision-making and a track record of proven results in the areas of customer satisfaction, operational excellence, host satisfaction, revenue and profit. I also have the ability to engage in a wide array of high-profile business and social community activities.
Qualifications:
To execute the position of Human Resources Manager, I have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results.
I possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably in Human Resources or Hospitality Management and more than four years’ experience in a similar human resources management role. Additionally, I have experience working in France, a strong understanding of French labour laws and regulations, Union Relations, extensive experience successfully managing high-volume recruitment processes, and hold a valid EU work permit.
Technical skills include Advanced MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I have an excellent command of written and spoken English and French.
