A little taste of your day-to-day:
 
Our hotels bring people together. We’re searching for a Director of Groups & Events capable of ensuring that strategies are formulated and executed, tools and resources are available and used effectively and to connect internal teams to deliver a seamless experience for planners, hosts and meeting attendees.  
 
Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:
  • Act as both brand ambassador and trusted partner 
  • Liaising with clients to build accurate events bookings 
  • Build budget decks and supporting documents.
  • Proactively create promotions and drive business.
  • Responding to meeting & events enquiries and upselling to maximise sales, occupancy and revenue
  • Accurately logging all enquiries in the sales and catering system – compiling accurate function sheets and regular reports for the Operations Team
     
What We need from you:
  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal strong skills 
  • Business acumen 
  • 5+ years total experience in an groups & events setting or related field
  • Direct supervisory experience over a sales/catering team, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience 
  • Love of working in a fast-paced and motivated team with a desire to take the next step in your career
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional administrative and time-management skills
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and learn new things
