Job Summary 

IHG is looking for a Director of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to drive the delivery of User Acceptance Testing and test automation across the Hotel, Owner and Commercial Products and Platforms organization. In this role, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of all software systems and applications used within our product towers. This pivotal role requires strategic leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of hotel and above-property business processes to drive successful UAT processes.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive UAT strategy aligned with the hotel's goals and objectives. Lead the UAT team in establishing best practices, methodologies, and standards for testing processes. 
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the UAT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations to ensure the team's success. 
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all UAT activities for software implementations, upgrades, and enhancements within the hotel. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define UAT scope, objectives, and success criteria. 
  • Ensure that UAT processes adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements, delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the hotel and its guests. Implement rigorous testing methodologies to identify defects and ensure optimal system performance. 
  • Act as a primary liaison between the UAT team and various stakeholders, including IT, operations, and vendor partners. Effectively communicate UAT progress, issues, and recommendations to senior management and project stakeholders. 
  • Proactively identify risks and issues related to UAT activities and implement mitigation strategies to minimize potential impact on project timelines and deliverables. Monitor UAT metrics and KPIs to track progress and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to coordinate UAT activities, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of software solutions. Evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations for improvement as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of UAT plans, test cases, results, and defects throughout the testing lifecycle. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing UAT findings, recommendations, and outcomes. 

Education 

Bachelor's or Masters’ degree in Hotel Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienced. 

Experience 

7+ years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in UAT, usability, and other testing methods, as well as significant experience leading teams and/or significant complex projects. Testing, hotel operations, project management, and/or product management with Agile experience is strongly preferred.  

Technical Skills & Knowledge 

  • Demonstrated experience working with UAT tools, test automation frameworks, and defect tracking systems is desirable. 
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, testing frameworks, and quality assurance principles. 
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of hotel operations, property management systems (PMS), guest service applications, and other software solutions used in the hospitality industry. 
  • Demonstrated product management experience in detailed product development discovery, feature and user story writing and documentation, and design work, along with understanding of Agile development process is preferred.
  • Demonstrated, solid project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and deliver results within tight deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to corporate clients, senior management, and potentially hotel colleagues. 
  • Demonstrated strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to develop lasting business relationships across various business and technical disciplines and ability to present new concepts, research findings, and business outcomes to various groups including corporate clients, senior management, and industry consultants. 
  • Demonstrated effective team leadership experience, planning resources, and providing coaching and performance management to a team of varying experience and backgrounds.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $195,000. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. 

**This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
