Your Day to Day

IHG are currently recruiting for a Corporate Counsel - Australia & Pacific to join the legal team based out of our Sydney support office.  The role will support the Head of Legal for the region and relevant business functions to ensure regional growth objectives are achieved and IHG business is at all times conducted in a responsible manner. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing timely and practical legal support to the relevant business function and stakeholders, including negotiation of hotel management and franchise agreements. Assist with contract and template management and legal compliance matters.

What we need from you 

To be successful in this role the following skills and attributes are highly desirable.  

  • At least 5 years’ working experience either in-house or in a law firm. ​
  • Commonwealth qualified lawyer​
  • Experience handling local legal issues in Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific region.​
  • Strong negotiating and drafting skills and experience. ​
  • Strong influencing skills, able to build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. ​
  • Decisive, results-driven, excellent interpersonal skills, highly organized, good management ability.​
  • Good commercial acumen and creative problem-solving skills. ​
  • Proactive and results driven. ​
  • Able to prioritize and adapt well to changing priorities.​
  • Ability to liaise professionally with multiple stakeholders including Leadership Team and hotel owners.
