Supports and assists in the performance of month-end closing. Prepares reports, verifies Trial Balance, and runs Financial Statements for management review.

Inputs General Ledger entries and journal vouchers as required. Ensures daily transactions are posted and updated in a timely manner and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.  Maintains control over bookkeeping functions for the hotel to include preparation and review of information posted to subsidiary ledgers as needed. 

Performs or assists in performing balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

Participates in the taking of inventories and verification of extensions on a monthly basis.

May review and verify accounts payable input and output, accounts receivable posting and billing, and maintains the daily income report, ensuring all necessary schedules are completed in a timely manner and general cashier.

Ensures other accounting staff members are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.

Interacts with outside contacts: Guests: to resolve billing disputes and answer questions; to provide service to accounts. Regulatory agencies: to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and contractual agreements as needed; to coordinate external audits.

Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports in accordance with reporting calendars, ensuring that all reports are submitted on a timely basis.

Ensures the follow-up and proper application of the CSA for the finance department.

May assist his superiors in preparing the Budget, Strategic Plan, and Goals program.  May perform financial and statistical analysis, forecasting, and complete special projects as needed. May perform additional accounting functions such as reconciling gratuities for payroll, maintaining contract logs, auditing or approving payments to vendors or agencies, reviewing the work of Income Auditors, etc.

Promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.  Key departmental contacts include Catering, Sales, Reservations, Accounting, and Front Office. 

Assists his superior in supervising his service’s staff (administration, payroll, work time, planning). Participates in staff end of year reviews and check ins.

Ensures compliance of his team with internal regulations in terms of grooming and dress code: state of uniforms, hygiene, presentation, attitude and behavior.

Builds and maintains effective relationships with the other departments.

Conveys the right values and the good behaviors in his service as well as towards his colleagues and his hierarchy. Informs the Management Team of any incident or problem that occurs during work hours, particularly those he is not able to solve or whose importance justifies it, whether it concerns work-related issues or employee-related problems. 

Applies procedures and policies within the hotel and all new procedures according to the management orders. Applies the internal procedures in terms of health, hygiene and safety. Enforces environmental good practices in his department, particularly as part of the Green Globe certification (waste sorting, black & white printing, paperless meeting..). 

May exceptionally perform other duties at the request of his hierarchy.

 

PROFIL : 

Higher degree in Hospitality Management or Finance, Accounting & Business Administration. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position in a hotel establishment of the same category and size. 

Fluent French, English and German. Mastering a third foreign language of one of our target markets (Germany, China, India, Italy, Middle East, Netherlands, Russia) is highly desirable.

Excellent computer skills (perfect command of Excel) and knowledge of ABACUS, Simphony and Opera.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Rigor and mathematical thinking.

Capacity to work in a team. Sense of discretion and confidentiality.
