Your day to day

  • Incorporate restaurant production, if any in daily product schedule.
  • Train and assist the Apprentice Chefs
  • Strictly adhere to "First In First Out" system (stock rotation).
  • Strictly follow food production and presentation manuals displayed in the kitchen.
  • Incorporate cleaning of kitchen equipment by supervising the kitchen stewards.
  • Be flexible to roster change and varying degrees of work pressure.
  • To monitor production to ensure that specifications, recipes and standards are adhered to ensure consistency of product to the customer.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all departments.
  • To always make available a service to meet the customer requests.
  • To be aware of the hotel service standards.
  • Regularly communicate with the outlets & customers to ensure satisfaction and gain feedback on quality.
  • Ensure product quality and consistency, through compliance with operational basics and corporate F&B guidelines.
  • Ensure the kitchen is hygienically clean at all times and safe food handling and preparation practices are followed.
  • Be fully conversant with the Hotel’s fire, security and emergency procedures and ensure team members are also informed.
  • Ensure smooth implementation and ongoing compliance with the Food Safety Program & HACCAP.
  • To assist the Executive Chef/Head Chef with promotions and quality assurance to follow through with customer satisfaction. 
  • To ensure all wet food commodities are purchased, received and handled to specification required in liaison with stores / purchasing.

What we need from you

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
  • Good Communication and writing skills
  • The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling 
  • A good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths 
  • The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts 
  • Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required 
  • Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.
