Role Purpose

Support Regional Director of Revenue Management in providing guidance to the hotel revenue management team within the assigned sub-region aim to drive hotel performance by fully utilizing corporate resources and tools, integrating with S&M priorities and execution of revenue maximization initiatives which ultimately stimulates business demand and achieve ongoing enhancement in revenue and market share growth.

Key Accountabilities

Driving Hotel Performance

  • Works closely with sub-regional Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing, Regional General Managers, VP Operations, General Managers and hotel revenue managers to conduct business reviews and develop revenue and pricing strategies and tactics which support revenue maximization, returns to owners, shareholders, and franchisees for new and existing hotels
  • Drive the usage of all IHG tools including Integrated Business Plan and various Revenue Management Tools at hotel level
  • Participate in the development of the pre-opening revenue & pricing planning of new hotels and to ensure that the plans are well executed.
  • Keep abreast of revenue management related best practices (internal and external) in the assigned sub region and take the initiative to share with other sub-regional teams. Ensure synergy in the use of technology, revenue practices and processes as well as evaluate implementation and effectiveness.
  • Provide support to Hotel Marketing in growing the system contribution by maximizing the use of all booking channels and proper inventory control.
  • Understand the market drivers and key competitors in each key market and assist Hotels with establishing, executing and tracking RGI and revenue enhancing initiatives. Monitor general competitor activity and pricing.

Talent development

  • Responsible for identifying the training needs and succession plans of the hotels in the assigned sub- region and deliver training programs for the region to improve the technical skills and knowledge of the revenue management teams with a prime focus on Revenue Academy and Business Planning
  • Identify high potential talents for development in the assigned area. Ensure that there are Personal Development Plans for the in individuals and the plans are well executed.
  • Ensure clear succession plans and strong leadership pipeline for the Revenue Management team in order to attract, retain, and develop the right people focused on future growth needs.
  • Work closely with other sub-regional Revenue Management and Human Resources teams in identifying external candidates for the ongoing development if the region
  • Assist the General Manager and/or the Area General Manager in the assessing and hiring of hotels Revenue Managers.

Functional Initiatives

  • Cascade and implement Regional Revenue Management projects and initiatives to hotels
  • Getting the right organizational set up and coverage to ensure all hotels are covered with the appropriate Revenue Management solution.
  • Support Regional Systems Specialist in developing Revenue Systems training including certification processes and system enhancement

Qualifications –

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management

Experience –

Requires individual with:

  • Experience in a sizable hotel Revenue Management leadership role
  • Working experience in both key cities and secondary cities preferred
  • Track record of developing talents
  • Knowledge of Intercontinental Hotels Group revenue systems preferred
  • Experience in guiding hotels on design, implementation and evaluation of all revenue enhancing Sales & Marketing initiatives
